I know we usually celebrate our big lessons on Thursdays and our mini lessons on Mondays, but since it’s the holidays, I decided that we could enjoy a big lesson today and then see each other again for another mini lesson bright and early next Monday!

Today I’m talking to my best friend Maria about massage therapy. I’ve known Maria for well over a decade. She was in my wedding party and I’ve helped her do laundry. We have been drunk together on most major holidays! She’s one of the funniest, kindest, weirdest (complimentary) people that I know. I love her so much!!!!
Knowing a person for that long means you sometimes forget that they know secret stuff that you have no clue about. Of course I knew that Maria was an expert at massage, but I didn’t know so many of the muscles of the body are pieced together like some sort of weird jigsaw puzzle?? The way that she just knew all of this stuff offhand was pretty mind boggling to me. I mean hey, I have a body, but do I have a single clue how any of it works???? Absolutely not.

Maria not only talked to me about what kind of massage she practices for work, she also gave me a few exercises that you can try out alone in your home to relieve specific muscle tension. One of these exercises would apply specifically to writers and people who work all day on the computer (so yeah, I guess that applies to most of us). All you need for that one is your own two hands! Incredible!
